The Launch, Being ‘Fit’ and the dream

This week I officially announced to the world (by world I mean Instagram and honestly how millennial is that) that I’m launching my personal training business. It was scary for me; probably a blip on the timeline for others.

I have always put so much pressure on myself, I’m not alone in this. If I’m not going to do it well, I won’t start. With lifting, it was different. I was such a novice, I had never deadlifted or squatted a barbell before 2017. I believe I will have to fail a lot in order to develop a respect and reverence for the craft. I know this will be good for me, and so I will persevere.

My dream is to give others the strength and reverence for working out that I have developed over the past few years. It’s not about being good or bad, being skinny or lean, or any physical manifestation, really. It’s about being consistent, informed, and confident.

I’ve always hated the term “fit”, it’s as general as “quality” in business. What does fit mean?

fit /fit/ : in good health, especially because of regular physical exercise.

Being ‘fit’ isn’t reserved for the rich, the cis-gender, or the western culture. I hope to be able to combine my philosophies in fitness and societal revolution to provide a model of self-care, discipline, and wellness for those who are also fighting for a better world for all.

This is all very general, but thanks for following my journey from the beginning. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to put myself in the world. If you or anyone you know would be interested in receiving personal training from me, please feel free to contact me.
